Procrastination breeds Blogging

So, who am I kidding? I can't blog regularly - I just never really feel like it, or if/when I do...it's always a spur of the moment sort of thing...hence the blog title. I should be studying for a test I have coming up this week (Ah, summer semester...so, so lame), but instead, I'm here blogging. I guess really the only thing I have to share as far as photos go this time is a new profile picture I took today. Once again, I never claimed to be a expert photographer or something so please spare me the criticism. I just snap a few shots, pick which one I think looks the nicest and play around with it in photoshop or this neat-o program called Picnik (it's online and free, how can it get any better?). Anyway, on to the picture.

P.S.: does anyone else notice that EVERY time you upload a picture to Blogger, it inputs it at the very top of your post? I find that really annoying because then I have the task of dragging it through the text (because, yknow, you can't scroll down while dragging a photo) to get it just where I want it. I'm beginning to think that's why some bloggers just start out with a photo and have all the text under it. Maybe that's a good idea...but then you all wouldn't get to read all my lovely explanations beforehand. Bahahah

Wow, I really need sleep.
So uh, yeah. Not much to say as always. I've been busy helping Themi with Favole cause I'm her new manager. Makes me feel all important and stuff XP
OH AND DID I MENTION?!
Themi got an ad spot in La Vie d'Innocent which is the gothic/lolita magazine that was founded by The Black Canary's creator, Morrigan Denimore. It's really a very nicely done publishing.
But anyway, back to the ad - Themis, her partner Kaishi, and myself are in it! Themi and Kai dressed in a darker, more gothic style sporting some of Favole's accessories while I dressed in more earthy colors sporting a set of horns (as per usual) and cloven hooves - which I might add are ridiculously awesome!
Aw, shoot. I was gonna post the ad here so you all could see, but I forgot that retrieving snapshots from SL isn't as easy as just browsing your computer for a regular image. Sooo, I guess you'll just have to wait til the next issue comes out.
In any case, though, the photographer, Ysandir Dharnen (longtime friend and Themi's partner in crime), did an awesome job setting everyone up just right and capturing the perfect shot.
I'm excited to see how it looks in the magazine. :)

Wowowow, wall o'text. I must really be trying to avoid this studying...but alas, I really must go. :<

Goodnight !

Dance Like You Just Don't Care

Helllooo! It's been a few days, eh? I'm gonna try and make this a quickie post since all my others tend to be so long.

Today I spent my time in-world helping out my friend Themi with some managerial stuffs while she placed everything at her new branch location on Harold. Her store, Favole, provides awesome gothic/victorian accessories and you can read a whole bunch more about her stuff here.
Anyway! After all was said and done, the shop was set up and the notices sent, we took a moment to dance.

[19:37] Themis Enzo: the dance of champiooons

Trust me, it's a super nerdy dance - even if you can't tell from the picture, but sometimes you just have to dance like you don't care what you look like. XD

PS: There's some freebies at her new Harold location that you should really check out :o

Have a good night everyone!

Errr...

Busy, busy! I'll get back into the swing of things probably by the end of the week or beginning of next. My summer semester just started up so it's been super busy for me, but it'll die down soon enough...hopefully. :)

In the meantime, check out the Favole blog for all of Themis Enzo's latest creations (I blog over there as well).

See ya!

.10 Cadenza

Oops, so I kinda didn't keep up with my goal of blogging once a day...again. Oh well. I do have a post for you today though! I'll just save all the talk and get right down to it because I'm really tired and mother nature is not letting me have a good week. *chomps on midol*

Anyway! On to the photos. I went to a sim called Cadenza today. If you've ever been a frequent visitor of the Chou Chou sim (which I believe is now closed? Correct me if I'm wrong!), you'll love this one. It's got a very similar design - it's very open with water everywhere and little "islands" of focal points. The centerpiece of the sim is this fantastic tree trunk with a piano and swirling lights and fairies. It's really quite stunning. (And once again, I apologize for my lack of photo skills.)

This is the centerpiece I mentioned. As always, click to enlarge so you can (hopefully) see the detail. I tried a bunch of windlight settings and I found that the foggier ones made for an interesting forest-nymph sort of feel - if that makes sense. Look at me trying to act like I know what I'm talking about XD

Random trees...and me. Uhh, yeah - next!

On the other side of the sim, there is this neat art exhibition - apparently they are RL paintings that the creator of the sim has done (I'll have to go back and check this later and correct my post if I'm mistaken - I'm writing this as I chill with some friends at their place). I really like when SL designers bring their RL creations to share with the virtual world.

Ohshi~...Blogger connection can't be found. I'm gonna lose this whole...

PHEW! That was close. I saved the draft just in time before the page refreshed and cleared the entry box.
Anyway, on to the final photo for today - you know I always have to sneak in some vain picture of my avi-self so here goes :P

Have a great weekend everyone. It's time for me to hit to the bed with a good movie and some medicine. Go visit Cadenza, you won't be disappointed!

.09 - Adventure Blogging!

Today is the start of my newfound goal; I call it: Adventure Blogging. The reason I started this blog wasn't to ramble on about nothing constantly or talk about fashion like the nine hundred other blogs that already do that (sure, I'm still gonna sneak some of both of the aforementioned things in though from time to time); the reason was so I could share stories about my exploration of Second Life. That's mainly what I do now when I log on: explore. So, I'm going to try as hard as I can to bring you all (whoever is out there..reading this...o.o) a new post everyday with a new location that I've explored. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment on this post or send me an in-world IM! I love it when people send me LMs to cool places so really, please do!

Anyway, today, because my Emerald viewer wouldn't load any of the Showcase and I was completely stumped for ideas, I sought out the help of secondlife.com for cool places to explore. The first place I stumbled upon was a sim called Morill. It's a "Virtual State Fair". The reason I was drawn to this was because not only did I love me a state/county fair when I was a wee child, but because when I first came to SL I found this amusement park which entertained me and my newfound friends for hours. Ah...those were the days. XP
So let's get right to a picture break - first up, Skeeball! I love the Mime pose set (I used one of them in this photo) by Del May - I swear I can use that set in just about ANY situation and it will work on some level...and of course make me laugh.

Next up: the obligatory Ferris Wheel! (Not to be confused with my favorite movie, FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF! :P) I actually can't tell where I am in the photo, but I think when I snapped it I was around that area...who knows.

And of course, the livestock part of the fair is a child's favorite. Here we have some goats - apparently I found them funny 'cause I'm pointing and laughing at them. Or maybe I'm just pointing and saying "Awww!" Again, who knows.

And last, but not least, this particular fair had several educational areas which I found kind of neat if you're into the whole educational part of SL - I have to admit, I wasn't really there to learn all about the life cycle of a Japanese Beetle or how to properly care for your turf grass, but if that's you're thing...well, this fair has all the info you need!
Anyway, I did however snap a picture of the nutrition area they had. My new year's resolution for 2010 was to create a healthier, happier me in RL (and I guess SL?). I've never been much of a red-meat eater but now I've completely cut that out and I'm all about the fruit and veggies this year. Exercise used to be painfully boring and tiring for me, but now I enjoy it and use that time to wind down my day and get some energy out.
So, here's a snapshot of me sporting the Vanna White pose, showing off the new (I guess it's not so new anymore since it's been at least five years or so since it changed) Food Pyramid. Everything in moderation, baby!

Gosh! That was a long blog post. Sorry about that. I'll try and have more interesting places next time, but I just had fun going through this sim 'cause there was just so much to look at.

Maybe I'll do a post featuring AM Radio's different exhibits sometime soon - those are some of my favorite sims to visit.

Until next time, I bid you adieu!

Oh, P.S. here's the SLURLS and details for the photos and such.
- Morill - Virtual State Fair
- All poses by Del May (Mime set previously a group gift from Ugly Duck)
- Tank top and blouse with bow by ~Willow~
- Hair by Miel (Current Miel Subscribo gift for those who didn't snag it at The Deck)
- Elf Ears by Scribble
- Frickin' snazzy prim feet sandals by Skifija (the color matching HUD on these is wonderful, perfect match every time. They're on sale right now for only 99L! P.S. did I mention they're color changeable - 116 color options)

Oh and...

I think I had a post lined up to blog about the store Picnic but I forgot to do it..or something.
I was looking through my latest snapshots and this would made me laugh a little.

I call it, Vero and the lone duck. I'm not sure why I took this, or if I even knew I was doing it actually thinking it would turn out cool - or at least have some sort of potential to be photoshopped. Who knows what my mind is thinking when its running on 3 hours of sleep :)

But anyway, my point is that you should go check out Picnic because it not only has really neat and well made items (anything from house/lawn decorations to suspender socks, which by the way, ARE THE COOLEST!), but also because the store layout is really nice (oh and I forgot to mention it has prefabs) and my personal favorite area is where the above picture is. It's this nice patio-type thing with a few ducks and some seagulls next to the ocean. Very peaceful.

I love finding stores that have little hang out areas or just pretty scenery and stuff. My friend, Themis Enzo, whom I mentioned in a previous post, has a neat little setup at her store that you should check out as well! It's a fairy-esque hangout area with lots of cute places to sit and well...hangout. The store is a cute little cottage looking shop as well.
So! Designers, take note: attractive/unique hangout areas make a customer happy and come back :)

Ok, now off to bed.

.07? 08? 124? ..I forget

Yep, as you can see from the title, I'm too lazy to check my blogfront to see which post number I'm on. Oh well.

I've lost a bit of steam the past couple of days as far as blogging goes (not that I had much before).

I guess it's my turn to mention the hottest sim of the moment...yes, you know what I'm talking about...that's right - THE DECK! *rolls eyes and watches any potential readers she had run away screaming*
I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about it by now, but what's one more blurb on it? :) Basically, a bunch of designers were generous enough to set out gifts for the anniversary celebration at The Deck. I'm actually not sure if it's still going on past the weekend, so this is your warning not to run immediately over there and be disappointed >_>
I guess I'm somewhat of a hoarder in SL. I like trying out new products and getting the scoop on the latest gifts and freebs just like everyone else - so when I heard the extravaganza going on at The Deck, I tried multiple (try..a thousand) times to TP in. After gathering my SWAG and scurrying home to try everything on, I crashed. When I logged back in, I found that several of the folders of items were missing. Ah, Second Life, how I love your bugs.

Another crazy lag-fest was at the Dutch Touch sim for all the VIP Groupies. Group enrollment is 250L now, but for a short while it was free so you can imagine how many people ran to join, but that's beside the point. The very generous Iki Ikarus (go me, I gotta get in the habit of crediting designers by name) set out a version of her latest release, SiS, in all tones for her group.
I managed to snag a quick snapshot while at the shop because I thought it might make for an interesting blog topic later on if I felt like blogging. (I know what you're thinking, "that's not an interesting topic at all, Vero!" shush.)

And...I swear, it looked so much more crowded with all the name boxes above the avatars, but since the snapshot so nicely takes out the avatar names, it doesn't look all that intimidating, eh?
Ah well. I tried.

Anyway, I want to end this post by saying THANK YOU to all the gracious designers that put out gifts - we're not worthy! bahaha. No, but really, thanks designers. We know how hard you work on the items and we so dearly appreciate them. Remember folks, if you snag a freebie or gift that you happen to love, check out the rest of the creator's store - chances are you'll find something else you like even more!

Oh...and I guess I should really start blogging my "adventures" to different sims since my blog tagline is "daily ramblings of an SL wanderer" or something along those lines. I'll get to that, promise. But for now, it's time for me to crawl into bed and watch reruns of The Office while I play solitaire on my ipod (yes, this is my nightly ritual).

HAPPY MON....err, TUESDAY, EVERYONE!

.07

I don't really have anything to day tonight, nor do I have any remotely interesting pictures to share. Maybe when SL decides to attach my head to my ass or polka-dot my skin I'll have something exciting, but tonight - I gots nuthin'.

I'm wiped out. I really need that vacation I'm taking in two weeks to be now.

If anyone actually stumbles across this blog for whatever reason, please feel free to shoot me an IM in world and let me know - not only would it be neat to know that someone else out there was reading my thoughts, but to talk to someone new. I promise I'll be nice :)

Night everyone, have a splendid weekend and make sure to wish your mothers (or mother-figures) Happy Mother's Day. They deserve it.

Hello out there!

I just wanted to let you (and again, I say that loosely as I'm pretty confident no one actually reads this xD) know that I will be blogging for the Favole Fashion blog starting very soon! The creator is an old friend of mine named Themis Enzo. I've known her since I was a wee noob workin' Club Mutation next to the old Sn@tch Mainstore. Ah...those were the days.

Anyway! Here is the link: http://favolefashion.blogspot.com/
You can check back in a few days and I will have posted the new releases - and since the store is brand spanking new, you might see a lot of posts :)So I know, I know. You're wondering what the hell she sells. Well! Anything from shoes, accessories, wings, collars, you name it. Favole is for the "dark diva in you". You can check out my picks for a landmark or just go here.

Now on to some samples. (and no, these are not her ads pictured below, I just took shots real quick)
First up, Castor wrist cuffs. I love these! One comes with really neat feather detailing on the back and the other is more simple - the contrast is really great between the two.

Next up, the brand new Arachnia boots. Just a head's up - these are the latest GROUP GIFT *ducks as all the freebie finders run for the group*. You can find the group in my profile or by going to search and using the keyword: ::{Favole}::

As always, click for larger sizes on both of these. I'm sorry my photo skillz aren't so great!

Anddd now I need to take my dogs out so I'll wrap it up here. See these and the rest of the goodies at Themi's mainstore!

TP to ::{Favole}::

Well, despite my efforts, I cannot get anything to rez in SL tonight so no pictures..not that anyone is really missing them.

I'm extremely exhausted, but glad the semester is over for me in RL. Now it's time to relax.

I wish I had more to say.

New friends. Old friends. Everyone coming together just when I need it most.

Yesterday, I had written a blog spot all about my current woes, then deleted it. I, instead, simply posted a picture. I don't want this blog to turn into some mopey thing because really, no one wants to read that, I know.
So today, today was a good day. I woke up and told myself I would make it a good day and it worked. Even though I was stuck in traffic and a little annoyed by the small things, it was alright. Sometimes you just get in a rut - you start to lose sight of what's important and constantly question yourself. I was there.

I hung out with my best friend in RL today. It was fun and I needed it. He's always there to make me laugh, even if it's at my expense. >_>
When I got home, I logged onto SL, fully expecting to log off ten minutes later after checking notices and offlines, but I stayed for a little while. I talked with a few neat people at The Winery (the place I blogged a few days ago - see, I told you it's a cool place!). It's unusual to find intelligent conversation much anymore so this was refreshing.
And guess what else? I splurged today - I went shopping. I'm so financially conscious and my friends get on me for it all the time, but today I felt like I could spend a little bit on some cute things. I bought two dresses and a pair of jeans. Nothing like new clothes to make a girl feel great :)

Now, I think I'll go shopping for myself in SL as well. Have a great evening, everyone. :)

I typed out an entry for tonight, but I really don't want this blog to turn into mope-fest '10.

I hope all these SLURLs are right - it's 1am and I'm exhausted.
Also - I'm not trying to turn this blog into some fashion thing - I'll have a real post tomorrow.
